Born and raised in Fort Stockton, Remie Ramos is a dedicated servant of Pecos County with a lifetime of experience building a stronger community and a powerful record of delivering results.
Earning his Bachelor of Business Administration from Angelo State University, Remie built a career with 8 years in local banking, 6 years at his family business of Remie’s Body Shop, and continues to work part time as an independent business owner of REMRACRAM Catering, where he has gained a deep understanding of local business needs. He has always focused on local growth.
As a former leader at First National Bank of Fort Stockton, Executive Director of the Fort Stockton Economic Development Corporation, and currently the Pecos County Economic Development Director, Remie has been a catalyst for change.
In 2025, Remie was instrumental in the development of additional major projects that will bring in over $3.6 billion in new investment over the next 3 years, diversifying our tax base and creating stable, long term jobs.
He has proven his commitment to the people of Pecos County. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was a driving force behind a crucial grant program that delivered over $170,000 directly to affected local business owners, helping them stay afloat during a difficult time.
Remie has demonstrated a track record of countless hours volunteering for local nonprofits, including Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce, Fort Stockton Water Carnival, Frontier CASA, Fort Stockton Community Theatre, Fort Stockton Historical Society, Comanche Springs Rodeo, Pecos County Historical Commission, and is looking forward to assisting additional Pecos County non-profits.

Remie has a proven record of leadership and results.
- Over the past eight years, Remie has helped attract more than $425 million in new industry to Pecos County, with an additional $10 billion in projects currently under contract and scheduled for construction through 2030. These investments are expected to create over 500 permanent local jobs and generate a major boost to the county’s economy during the construction phases. These efforts not only support economic growth, but also build a strong foundation for Pecos County families for years to come.
- This work has already created more than 135 permanent jobs, with another 1,500 construction and 500 long term jobs on the way. Remie helped negotiate agreements ensuring industries directly support local residents and nonprofits, including a tax incentive approach that provides financial support for local nonprofits, with current contributions exceeding $50,000 and projected to grow beyond $100,000 in the near future. Additionally, Remie and the Commissioners Court have added conditions that employees of these projects must reside in Pecos County and that industries use non-potable water for industrial use, preserving drinking water for the community.
RESPONSIBLE FISCAL LEADERSHIP
Remie has the education, proven experience, and fiscal expertise to lead Pecos County.
- Remie managed an annual budget of over $1 million for seven years as Executive Director of the Fort Stockton Economic Development Corporation. During that time, he grew the fund balance by $2.3 million while investing $2.5 million in local businesses and $1.7 million into community development projects.
- Having completed two budget cycles with the Commissioner’s Court, Reemie has an understanding and appreciation of Pecos County’s current and immediate financial needs.
- Remie has been a driving force behind the development of innovative renewable energy projects including wind and solar, as well as Battery Energy Storage Systems, supporting economic diversification and long term opportunity in Pecos County.
LOCAL GROWTH
Remie has real business experience and a proven record of supporting local businesses.
- Remie has made supporting local businesses a priority, consistently demonstrating his commitment to a strong local economy. For 9 years, he has played a key role in organizing and planning The Glitz, the largest shop-local event in Fort Stockton. His involvement reflects his belief that shopping locally strengthens businesses and the Pecos County community.
- Remie helped launch a grant program that provided critical support to local business owners during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Remie maintains a network of local vendors and service providers to connect new projects with local businesses.
- Remie spent 6 years working in his family’s business, Remie’s Body Shop, and continues working as an independent business owner. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, 8 years in local banking, and 7 years as Executive Director of the Fort Stockton EDC, Remie understands the needs of local businesses and why supporting local growth matters.
COMMUNITY MINDED LEADERSHIP
Remie takes a hands-on approach to leadership that puts the community first.
- During his time as Executive Director of Fort Stockton EDC, Remie led the board’s effort for the renovation and expansion of the Gene Cummings Park, Teresa Mason Park, Lannom Park, and Silliman Park. As Economic Development Director for Pecos County, Remie continues to work with Commissioners to improve all county parks.
- County revenue generated by the new industry Remie negotiated with the Commissioners Court enabled them to build a new fire station in Fort Stockton, fund the Coyanosa Fire Department with equipment, and renovate the Fort Stockton and Iraan EMS stations. Remie is committed to ensuring emergency services have the support and resources they need to keep our community safe.
- Every year, Remie mentors Youth Leadership Fort Stockton participants, helps with school fundraisers, and actively engages in school activities because he truly believes in investing in the next generation of leaders. Since taking over the family catering business in 2015, Remie and his brother Ramsey have proudly served meals for local teams and community events, supporting young athletes while celebrating community pride.
- Remie helped launch sponsorship and volunteer efforts for the Historical Society’s Platinum Anniversary Gala, celebrating 70 years of preserving history in Pecos County.
